As we all are becoming more aware, we are realizing that being Tech savvy is now imperative, irrespective of gender or the field you work in. Our CuSCode projects strive to bring awareness to an arising global consciousness.
One of our CuSCode.org's main objectives is to prepare girls to thrive and lead in the Tech workforce by keeping them informed on recent technological advances.
Bridging the coding gender gap is essential to our present day society. Turning girls onto computers and coding requires strong leadership.
Computer science classes have long been the domain of boys. While girls and boys are now equally represented in advanced science and math classes, girls still are not flocking to classes like Programming in C++, JAVA, PYTHON or Mobile App Development. With the growing need for computer scientists in the workforce, we need to be able to convince more women and girls to learn to code by shaping their coding experiences.
When individuals feel that they belong in the environment, they become more interested in the field. Through our CuSCode.org, we would like to support girls and women by helping them
find fun & smart online methods to learn Coding, Web devt. & Programming Languages.
Our very first project was a teaching project, CusCode. It was done as part of achieving a girl scout silver award. Elementary and middle school students were taught the basics of coding using scratch and code.org . Please visit https://cuscode.weebly.com/ for more information.
We plan to mobilize the teaching of Programming Languages like C++, Java and Python, front end web development skills using HTML, CSS & Java scripts and work on helping teach the basic concepts involved with understanding Blockchain, AI, and Machine Learning through the Girl Scout Gold award project 'Together We Code, Together we create' . Here are some links to our workshop slides developed for our online Web Development curriculum(basically HTML, CSS and Python workshops).
